Who Are We? |
Events, Classes, Lectures, RetreatsWe are a very active group and there are a number of activities available all through the year. Events — We like to party, and we do it in a number of ways. We sponsor campus-wide picnics, Cafes, art events, trips, and other activities. Last year our game night brought in over 300 students and our annual plaza picnic fed 600. Classes — We offer a number of classes, many of which are done as one-day events. We offer skill classes on Bible study, worship, prayer, and leadership development. We also offer topical classes. Past and future classes include topics such as Women in Ministry (we follow Scripture’s teaching and are for it), Christian Thoughts on Postmodernism, Heaven, Angels and Demons, Christians and the Arts, Reconciling Christians and Science, Christian Environmentalism (we are called to be stewards of God’s Creation) and many more. Through our classes we hope to move beyond Christian folk religion to the true teachings of Scripture. Lectures — We bring in established Biblical teachers from outside the campus to speak to us. Retreats — We need a couple of breaks each year to get away from the intensity of life on campus. Our retreats allow us to change our surroundings and relax. Most of all, they are times devoted to God where we let him minister to us without distraction as we worship him, learn from him, and love and serve each other.
